What stops two customers booking the same slot?
Bookings are transaction-safe: the first confirmation wins and the slot disappears for everyone else in the same second.
Can I add a buffer only to some services?
Yes. Buffers are per service, so a quick consult can run back to back while a colour appointment gets its cleanup time.
What happens to a slot while a customer is still paying?
It is held as pending. If payment does not complete, the hold expires and the slot frees itself automatically.
